I am very upset by the news that Kelly has been let go. For longer than I have been racing at this race track (15 plus years) Kelly has been the smiling face that met me at the gate. I know Kelly loved being apart of our racing family and I along with many will miss her. I personally have not been happy with alot of things at the track this year and I know I'm not alone. Because of the weather and other work related things I had been on the fence about going racing tomorrow but this news has made my decision easy. We will miss you Kelly.

No Kelly. YOU are the greatest! For 7 years you were there for us. You spent 23 years giving your weekends to the racetrack. You never missed through thick and thin. Rain or tornadoes you were there. When Denise was a little girl racing Jrs. You were there. She is now 29. Jeff, my kids, and I are all devastated. I think what most don't realize is that you have watched most of the families grow into their own. Most of the time when your own son was going down the track, you were out of the gate. Even when he was in Jrs. . So you have given up a lot for the track. We recognize that and just wanted to tell everyone how much dedication and how much we ALL appreciate you and love you! You ARE part of the Midstate family and we all love you! Jacklyn

Thanks Jacklyn. I GUESS MY PRIDE AND FEELINGS WERE HURT MORE THAN ANYTHING. I HAVE ALWAYS BEEN A PART OF THE FAMILY- BACK WHEN BOB AND MARK, THEN BOB AND PATTI, THEN YOU GUYS HAD THE TRACK. I KNOW I DONT OWN THE TRACK BUT I HAVE ALWAYS FELT IT WAS MINE. LOTS OF BLOOD SWEAT AND TEARS, MANY GOOD TIMES AND SOME BAD. WE FOUGHT LIKE FAMILY AND HAD FUN THE SAME WAY. I ALWAYS EXPECTED TO BE THERE TIL I WAS AN OLD ( HA HA OLDER) WOMAN. I FIGURED I WOULD BE PART OF THE NEW FAMILY TOO. MAYBE NOT AS FAST AND SHARP AS I ONCE WAS BUT I ALWAYS THOUGHT I GAVE IT MY ALL. I WAS AN ALWAYS BEHIND THE SCENE PROMOTER AND ALWAYS TRIED TO SOOTHE ANY TENSIONS I HEARD, I WOULD NEVER DO ANYTHING TO HURT THE TRACK- IT WAS THE PLACE EVERYONE WANTED TO BE.... A FEELING .... THRU UPS AND DOWNS. IT WILL ALWAYS BE MY TRACK. TOO MUCH OF ME AND MY FAMILY THERE FOR IT NOT TO BE... PS. SOMEONE WATCH OUT FOR TRACK DOG PLEASE. THANKS KELLY

not to keep beating a dead horse but i would like to say one more thing about this. we would like to thank everybody for their kind words of encouragement and concerns for kelly, she is fine and is going to be fine but aside from all of you racers that have reached out to her either on this message board, through my facebook page, phone calls and too many text messages to count we would like to say a special THANK YOU to mark and joyce runyon who owned part of the track for a number of years along with bob, patti and scott boyd who owned the track for 15 years, rich gebhardt who along with jacklyn purchased the track from bob and patti and finally jacklyn and jeff, all of who have reached out to kelly to let her know how much they appreciated all that she has given of herself for that race track and for them, it is nice to have family and i can tell you that it is just as nice to have good friends and it was not just a one sided deal because kelly and i have a lifetime of memories of what a great place to spend our weekends and what a great place it was for adam to grow up at and friendships that will last us for the rest of our lives. the fact is that last sunday around lunch time kelly didn't say to me "boy, i sure miss my job" but instead she came in the house and said " i really miss my friends".

Eric,Sheila and I were all very sad to hear that Kelly was gone. We will definetly miss her at the gate in fact we already have. When I pulled up last Sunday we were running a little late and the line was backed up and was moving at a snails pace. I was impatient and muttering a few curse words I turned to Sheila and said Kelly must not be here and sure enough when we got closer I could see it wasn't Kellys car parked in front of the booth and thus the reason for the hold-up. We wish Kelly the best and know people like her are impossible to replace.
