Is anyone for a Gamblers Race on Sat? Maybe $30.00 entry and $15.00 1st Rd. Buy-Back. Nothing better to brighten up a boring test n tune with a Gamblers Race. Right?

I'm all for it... We will have one. Question is, Do we want to have two categories...... a box, no box gamblers race
The Test & Tunes are important, Several of the racers Saturday and Sunday needed that time to sort things out plus it gave us a chance to get some rubber down and get the track back in shape after sitting all winter.

Bob we drove to Coles County Sunday to race for cash and maybe points. Two days of test and tune is kinda overkill the carcount probably reflected that Sunday. Just my opinion but lets get started on points and racing next weekend and get some cash generated for the track also. Im ready like two weeks ago! If not we can drive back to Coles again but would rather give that money to you!

Bob, I think separating the box and no box until the finals would be perfect. In the past, typically the no-box car beats the box car in the finals and yes, test and tunes are very important I have some bugs to work out on my car. Nothing like a Gamblers Race to sweeten the pot!

I know last year, at least of the Gambler races was box and no box and they didn't run each other in the finals. We need a test and tune since the fuel pump went out yesterday when we unloaded it. Can't make Saturday test and tune usually since Tyler works.

If there are enough cars I would say have 2 separate classes. If there are not, have no box run no box and box run box until the finals. Then have the finalist of the box side run the finalist of the no box side.

Not very many tracks are going to start the season out with an actual race, the track was green from the winter, I put a barrel of VHT down on Friday, we needed the cars to run and put rubber down on top of it plus there were a lot of racers that ask if we would have a Test & Tune for a week or two. The weather has been a major factor as a reason why we haven't been able to run so far. I for one am ready to have a race right now... If were to go ahead and race this weekend I won't do points quite yet because a lot of racers are just now getting ready. I'll wait and see what kind of response I have about regular Bracket Racing this weekend via e-mail or phone. Then we'll make an anouncement.... I was thinking about a Gamblers Race and the track post an additional cash award towards the winner payout. But maybe a race will be better. I'll get with my people and post something tomorrow morning. I would like to say THANK YOU Bob for all your hard work to keep the track going. The track was slick to start with, by the end of the day it was alot better. Other than water problems we thought the first day went very well. There maybe several butts with poison ivy after the restrooms got closed saturday ha ha, Eric

I would like to say thank you to bob as well. You did a great job this weekend with what you were given. Personally, I feel like this weekend is too early to start points, but waiting until the 22nd is too late. Maybe keep this weekend as scheduled and have the no points bracket race Saturday may 14th, then start with points Sunday the 15th? Jmo

Hay bob think the first weekend was a great start .Had alot fun and got alot of test passes in.I think with all the rain out T&Ts that starting the points races next week is to soon it hasent gave people with new car combos much time to test at all. If people want to make some cash gamblers race is a great idea. We will be there next weekend regardless of your decision. If every one would show some support i think it will be a great place to race and not have to drive so far. Hope to see every one there this weekend .

I'm all for a gamblers race this weekend. Just seperate box and no/box till the finals like Steve said. If we start racing are we going to get a set of track rules figured out first? Or are we going to use the rules from years past? There are always some hard feelings when rules are made up as we go. Just a suggestion...

Some of us work on Saturday until noon (like me) and can not make it out there to get time runs until 1pm, and im only driving from Havana.Would it be possible to hold off on the gamblers race until around 3pm?Surely im not the only one stuck at work every Saturday. If the gamblers race was later in the afternoon I would be there.
Jimmie
I agree on box cars run box cars and no box run no box until the final
