What a great deal....You can't race anywhere in the country that cheap. When most tracks are prorating purses, Midstate ups theirs. Awesome!!!!!!! Now all we need is some better weather. Although my "race track" can be "raced on" when it is snowing out.....hahahahahahah

I could not agree more!I just wish it was a little closer to home for me, the el camino does not handle those sharp curves very well out promenade street. Seriously, thank you Jacklyn

WELL, I'm on the other side of the fence. When the cost of racing has to go up to increase payout that only a few collect, makes us guys that race for fun cut back. Looks like I'll miss a few more races this year. Anybody interested in a tube chassis Grand Am? Runs mid 6.40s@106 at Midstate.

We have held our prices for the racers over the years. It has been the same since 2005, even though the cost to run the track has continued to climb over the past 4 years. We only raised it $5.00. Honestly, it should save you 5.00 in fuel for the tow vehicle this year with fuel prices down. We are also working on something to pay back one more round. It is not finalized so I can't go there yet. So sit tight... I know there is only 1 winner! We thought of that too!

Just thought I might show some reference points of Midstate's payout/ entry fee.
Cordova $70 entry for $1000 to win Gateway $60 entry for NO GUARANTEE Joliet $75 entry for $1200 to win.
Seems to me that Midstate is the best deal!!!! Just think you could run Gateway and get paid $500 to win. I think we all remember those days. I understand that we should all be doing this for fun, but it sure makes it nice to get paid good, for a low entry. I know if $5 made a difference in my racing program I would probably find something else to do.

There is a other part of the picture. There are drivers that are racing here that have not finish first or second for years. It only took myself four years do both in the same year. Some will never do it. Is it fair or not, will it make a better racer or bring more cars. I guess we will see.

Five dollars every five years is totally fair , it's gonna make me a better racer, and I'm definitely bringing all my cars.

Thank you Jacklyn from the Jones Family! We can't wait to see how many new cars it brings and how much more competition!! Our track has some of the toughest competition already, it's only going to get better! It's going to be a great year at Midstate!

The increase is fair. Everything is going up. Racers already know you just have to prioritize and cut back elsewhere if you want to race (whether you cut back a couple pack of cigarettes or case of soda). I'm hoping the payout draws in more racers.... competition is a good thing!

I am completely stunned that anyone would complain about a $5 increase in entry (in 4 years) if Jacklyn had left the payout as it was, let alone to complain with an increase payout. I know times are tough for everyone but seriously you can't expect everything to stay the same for ever. $5 dollars would have barely bought 1 gallon of gas 7 months ago. The race tracks cost of doing business has gone up just like the cost of living has gone up for everyone. What good would it do anyone if Mid state left the price of everything alone this year and lost money and could not open next year? I realize a couple of you are thinking that the entry went up just to increase payout. I would say mid state probably saw a need for an increase but also wanted to give something back the best they could. And that's all I have to say about that.
